Since Jimmy Carter's passing and reading of his good works has directly inspired me to make a tangible effort to be more involved in bettering my community and uplifting those in it who are underserved. I will think of him during my next several shifts at my local soup kitchen.

At the transitioning of this our 39th President of the United States, truly the 'ultimate citizen' and role model, I am inspired to pick-up where he left off, and use my years of plumbing experience to contribute and glean all I can, with this institution of well-being and wellness through quality and affordable living spaces. We've got work to do! “The Season of Christmas”.

President Carter and Rosalynn have been an inspiration and guiding force for myself and my wife since 1976 when we first met him during his campaign in Norfolk. I volunteered to help build dozens of Habitat homes in Huntsville, AL. They will be deeply missed.

Jimmy Carter was a humanitarian of the highest level and an extraordinary human being. His legacy will endure for all time. We can be proud of one of the most exceptional Americans.

Betsy and I will always donate to Habitat because of the Carters. They were both inspirational. The Carters will go down in history as two of the most admired people that influenced the world. We will miss you both.

The 76 election coincided with my awakening to US presidential politics. His legacy will be controversial for some but for me, I always revered him for his outstanding character. I was 7 years old when Jimmy Carter became President. It was sometime during his presidency that I understood the news and politics and recognized the good in this man. He was an inspiration, and even at that young age, I spoke to people in my family about why he was a good president. He has inspired my human rights journey and exists as one of the true heroes I hope to emulate in my life.

Our nation will miss the human presence of Jimmy Carter. I am 62yrs old and remember how he and his wife stood for the unpopular and unpolitical concept of love, peace and compassion for all humanity. His legacy will live on in all of our hearts. I pray that peace and love will continue to be the foundation of our nation. I dream that hate and greed will be destroyed.

A Habitat World magazine featuring Jimmy Carter sparked my two-decade career with Habitat. Jimmy Carter’s legacy has impacted countless lives, including mine. I feel inspired by his well-lived life and joy that he and Rosalynn are resting together

One summer, I arrived at a Habitat work site in North Philadelphia as the opening prayer was about to begin. The only empty seats were in the front row, not my favorite place. There was one woman in that row and I decided to join her. After I sat down, I realized that I had sat next to Rosalynn Carter. Jimmy came up to lead the prayer. Both of them graciously signed my copy of their book, “Everything to Gain.” I am glad that I reluctantly had chosen the front row.

Former President and Mrs. Carter were wonderful people. They shared their love with God and each other for many decades. They were an inspiration to many.

We have lost an outstanding human being! He spent a lifetime assisting others in this world. Thank you, sir!

During the 2006 India JCWP I was responsible for two homes. There were 6 Dutch builders in my crew and by the third day we were ahead of schedule. President Carter came around first thing next morning and “asked” that the Dutch men move to homes lagging behind. I obliged but my crew pushed back. Needless to say President Carter got his way and the 100 homes were completed in time, as they should!
