Wonderful man and a great leader. First president I ever voted for. I hope that the high standards he set for integrity are continued in the USA.

Our brother in faith, hope, and charity has reached his resting place in the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. May Jimmy's humble service, love, and respect for all people be his legacy.

The world is a better place because of President Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter. All of us can learn from their lifelong example of service to those in need. Their dignity, compassion, and service has inspired so many people over the decades, and I am one of many who are in awe of their dedication. The very best tribute to the Carters is continuing their legacy of service through volunteering.

Jimmy Carter has been and will continue to be a role model in my life. His integrity, compassion and work ethic are inspiring. Not many former presidents have carried on at this level of positive impact; eradicating disease, negotiating for peace, providing clean water and safe housing. His leadership has created organizations that I believe will continue to thrive with our help.

What a powerful role model and example you were of what true leadership and faith embodies. You will be truly missed, but we look forward to carrying on your legacy.

As a Habitat Homeowner, I am in awe of the Carter’s giving spirit. They are shining examples of the Christian way of life. The grace my family received, may seem just a grain of sand, but together with all the other families, we are an endless beach founded in hope and love. Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County Pennsylvania.

Our country was truly blessed to have such an experienced, insightful and empathetic man serve in its highest office. The incredible work that President Carter did in his later years was a shining example of humanity for the generations of Americans who were lucky enough to witness it — and will be for many generations to come.

Carter's commitment to helping those who want to help themselves inspired me to volunteer with Habitat in North Carolina and now in Pennsylvania. When those receiving a new home participate in the build, they learn skills to maintain their home.

A life well lived! And an amazing role model for future posterity.

My condolences to the Carter family on their loss. President Carter is one of my earliest memories of a U.S. President. What a gracious man who loved his wife, family, and country. I hope and pray that we get another like President Carter in the near future. I will pray for your family.

I found out about Habitat for Humanity mission through the President Carter. At first I donated to the organization, but in 2004 I became a global volunteer with my first trip to Anchorage and I got hooked. I have visited several countries/continents. I have made numerous friends who I consider family. Thank you President Carter and may your work continue here on Earth. Peace.

President Carter's service to Habitat for Humanity influenced me to volunteer with the organization. It was at a time when I needed to find something that would move me away from my struggles at the time. What I found was the most humbling, rewarding & community-centered work I have ever done. I worked on a house build project outside Hanoi some years back. On the last day, Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter showed up and I had the opportunity to meet them. To have met such remarkable and truly good people has become a significant event of my own life, and a model for going forward.

President Carter was an inspiration to many and will be missed greatly. His legacy will live on forever.

A noble gentleman and a leader who led through compassion.

My mother was a Carter delegate and Chip Carter came to our home during the campaign for President. We did not have a spare bedroom for him and he stayed in my room while I moved across the hall for the night. I spent many hours our local Bethlehem PA Carter headquarters. My friends and I did a lot of canvassing for my mom as a Carter delegate (we were in our early teens then), and most of my friends reach out to me now in fond memory of that effort, also crediting it with opening their eyes to politics. As a young girl, I think the Carters and my mother's involvement made me believe I could do or be anything. I attended the Carter inauguration with my parents, and I reported back to my school in essays about the day, which I still have. When my mother died last year, my brother received the large poster of thanks from Jimmy Carter for her involvement in his campaign. It is hanging proudly now in his home outside of Washington D.C., having moved from its spot over my mother's bedroom dresser. I have the gold peanut earrings and pin. I think this experience melded my belief that anyone could become president, even a farmer. In my young eyes I saw a person I thought was very genuine and good; I loved how he spoke plainly and with passion, all the while wearing a cardigan sweater. This plain style resonates still with me. His works after the presidency serve as a model of how to serve, and it is no wonder that so many people connect with and admire and honor his ethos. So inspiring. May he rest in peace and my hope is that his memory will continue to inspire me to do selfless good for others.

I was a young girl in a foreign country, Saudi Arabia, in 1978. President Carter came to visit, and I remember my parents having us stand on a corner waving small American flags in his honor. He drove right by us, looked and waved at us. Since that moment, I have followed and been inspired by his life and service. Though my life was not only service based, as I have gotten older, I see the need and necessity. His inspiration has come back to me, and I hope I can live a life serving others as I move forward in mine, Thank you President Carter for inspiring me to look beyond myself and serve others.

What a beautiful model for being a true humanitarian and human being. Also, a president! A true example of living in service for the betterment of others. Hopefully he will be remembered and valued for all of that. If we can get better.

His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little, I will put you in charge of many things; share in the joy of your master.’ RIP Mr. President. You showed us how we should live, love and have compassion for our fellow world citizens.

Thank you for your honor, integrity and commitment to our country while serving in the U.S. Navy and as the 39th POTUS. As your fellow Believer, my greatest memory of you will be the loyalty, devotion, and everlasting love you had to the Word of God from your Sunday school lessons, to your charitable works, to your defense of human rights and so on. You were indeed a good and faithful servant.

President Carter inspired me to support Habitat for Humanity by building homes, sitting on the board in Albuquerque, NM and of course annual donations. Everyone should have a nice place to call home.

Some leaders talk a good game, and talk and talk and talk. Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter led by example, i.e. giving their time and their talents to actually work for the common good. May both their souls abide in our gratitude.

While I may only be in college, President Carter's selflessness, compassion, integrity, and desire to help others has always been inspiring to me. He will always be a role model of mine, and I hope to be at least half of the man that he was. Rest easy, Mr. President.

Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn set a wonderful example for all of us to follow. I wish all of our politicians followed his example. In my book he was a great president. He demonstrated honesty and integrity through his lifetime.

Jimmy Carter was a person that really cared about people. He was full of compassion and gave his life to help the unfortunate. He was a good president and had integrity which is a rare thing among politicals. It was an honor to have him for our president.

Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter were generous, humble, wonderful people who truly lived lives of public service, helping those in need because IT IS ALWAYS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. We should all follow his example of true love! Rest in Peace, together again for eternity, dear President Carter and dear First Lady.

President Jimmy Carter spread so many seeds of faith and kindness through his life as president and humanitarian. As many volunteers, I was blessed with the opportunity to water such seeds as a volunteer, an experience I will always treasure in my heart. May his good deeds continue to grow and bring comfort and shelter to the most vulnerable among us.

The families of the released prisoners will always keep his patient & cautious conflict resolution skills in memory as they continue embracing their lives together. Rosalynn was his loving lifetime partner with family & during his presidency prioritizing needs of America & beyond. Her lifetime commitment with mental health is a most needed/appreciated legacy. Their accomplishments (Nobel Peace Prize, etc.) & service following his term in Washington will be unequaled in U.S. post-presidential history. I'm thanking God for having blessed this nation with a man and woman of God, to serve this country. President Carter was the epitome of a Godly servant. The Carter's were truly the hands, feet and voice for those on the margins of life. Scriptures says, “When you've done it for the least of these, you've done it unto Jesus Himself. Met the Carters in 1999 as I was one of about 2,000 volunteers that went to the Carter Work Project in the Philippines. I was actually on the plane with them from Taiwan to Manila. He came to our build site in central Philippines twice during the week. Since then I have been volunteering with Habitat near my home. Jimmy Carter inspired me long ago.

What a wonderful couple Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter made. Working hand in hand on so many humanitarian projects. They are one of the reason I got interested in donating to Habitat for Humanity. The world would be a better place with more people like them in it. RIP
