I had the pleasure and honor to work on my first JCWP in 1994 and have two memories that have stayed with me. He just wanted to swing a hammer on a house and we honored that request. When weather put our schedule in jeopardy he humbly walked to each site and asked a simple question, “You are going to stay tonight until today's tasks are done?” Great example of humble leadership. He was a great president and even better in his post years, demonstrating leadership and care for his fellow man and women.

We should all remember, especially at this moment, the meaning of service, dignity, respect for all our fellow humans / the true Christian model of the Carters. I shook Jimmy Carter’s hand in 1976 as a soon to be first time voter; his example in that time shaped my sense of civic and political life since. We should all be so much like him.

I did see President Carter and his wife building a house with Habitat for Humanity, I thought it was pretty awesome when I saw it on TV news. To friends and family, I'm very sorry for their loss, I'm sure he was a terrific guy.

What great love this man shared in his significant leadership positions during his lifetime. We have all been blessed by his examples of love, compassion....and rolling up his sleeves to help mankind!!

I was inspired to volunteer because of his mission. I have enjoyed many builds and playhouse builds and preps. I've donated to Restore for years. Thank you for being a great example of a human being one should aspire to. Rest well, God Speed.

I went on 3 Habitat for Humanity builds with the Carters. They never stopped working hard. They were gracious, brave and inspiring.

My fondest memory of Pres. Carter is when he and others built a home for a family member. He was so humble and took time to give words of encouragement and prayed for my family himself. My family will always be grateful for all he did to get good people into their own homes.

I'd like to send my deepest condolences to his family and just share what a wonderful human being he was and that I got to meet him in Tijuana, Mexico one year when he was presenting families with Habitat homes over there. It was a wonderful day and I'm so glad I was able to be in his presence and experience meeting him in person.

I joined Habitat for Humanity because of the wonderful work Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter did. It is a joy to stand with other Habitat workers and share in joy that he started. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Carter for your giving humanitarian works. I am so honored.

President Carter's political career was before my lifetime. So instead of knowing him as President Carter, politician, I have always known him as President Carter, Habitat for Humanity Volunteer and Champion. As so many have said, President Carter exemplified a life of service. He has been and always will be an amazing role model for a life well lived and a legacy of good work.

Jimmy Carter was like an Angel on Earth. He did for the people, worked for the people, and cared deeply about the people. He will never be forgotten. With Love from Loretta.

On a Habitat conference that I was attending, President Carter spoke to his 5 year plan....he was 90 at the time! I was inspired by his commitment to our mission and his endless energy and willingness to serve at his generous age. His wife was right by his side and shared the same commitment. Habitat was so blessed by them both and may they dance together now!

Southern gentleman who exemplified gentleness, integrity and high moral character. Many should pattern their lives as President Carter did both in the eyes of the public and in his private life. A life well lived, a legacy that will forever be remembered. Well-done Mr. President, Rest in Peace, your reward awaits you.

President Carter's involvement is definitely the reason we began donating to Habitat for Humanity. We will continue to do so in memory of my favorite former President. R.I.P Sir.

President Jimmy Carter attended a Nobel Peace Prize Forum at Augsburg College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Recall the attentive listening & energy of the audience with our unified respect of our President.

President and Mrs. Carter have helped so many people. They were both humble and lovely people. Thank God for such creative and giving leaders.

President Jimmy Carter was a beacon of humility, compassion, and relentless dedication to service. His legacy as a champion for justice and equality extends far beyond his presidency, deeply rooted in his hands-on work with Habitat for Humanity. I had the privilege of working alongside him as a board member and through the Carter Work Project, where I witnessed firsthand his unwavering commitment to helping those in need. His life's work has inspired generations to build a better world, and his impact will continue to shine brightly for years to come.

It was because of President Jimmy Carter that I chose to become a Democrat. In light of what the Republican party at the time represented, e.g., Nixon's Republicans, I have since determined I made the right choice.

Thanks for your service and leading by example. Your legacy will live on long beyond your years here in the land of the living.

So inspired by the Carters and was honored to be able to work alongside them and other volunteers on several Carter Work Projects--Durban, South Africa; Valdosta, Georgia; Veracruz, Mexico. For the last 25 years have been able to continue volunteering with many affiliates in New Mexico, Washington, and now Tucson.

I volunteered with my synagogue and then with the Jewish Community Relations Council for over 30 years. As a citizen, I appreciate the inspiration that Pres. Carter has given to our country as a volunteer and advocate for housing. As a Jew, I thank him for brokering an unbroken peace between Israel and Egypt. May his memory be for a blessing for all people.
