President Carter was an exemplary human being. I hope we all find inspirations in his tireless pursuit of human rights across the globe and do our part to advance this goal. The World will be a much better place if we follow his footsteps toward prioritizing global and social prosperity over greed and personal gains. May he rest in peace.

James Earl Carter was most definitely one of our favorite presidents! His life is an encouragement to the world, to our nation and to us personally. His strengths and his challenges encourage us personally. He was the best kind of human being, flaws and all. He will always live in our memory.

A man of integrity, empathy and true love for mankind.

My former co-worker is Jimmy’s best fan. She was elated when our office moved to share work space with Habitat. She was constantly updating us on all that Jimmy was doing, the history of Habitat and all its projects. He was such an inspiration to her that she kept a picture of him in her cube. She was able to go to the Carter Center to pay her respects and say goodbye to her favorite humanitarian.

It is so rewarding to participate as a volunteer. One of the things that I have noticed over the years is that everyone I work with never talks about the help that they are providing - only how to solve the immediate problems we face to accomplish our goals - building. Thank you President Carter.

I was six years old when you became President of the United States. I did not know the fullness of your goodness sadly until you passed away. I am thankful know that someone of your character existed. Thanks for all you did for our Nation and our Neighbors. With Love and great respect.

President Carter's example motivated me to be involved in planning housing for women who are homeless or formerly homeless and the organization which makes that housing possible. His on-going, year after year commitment motivated me to donate to Habitat for Humanity monetarily and furniture possessions when I moved.

In the late 1980s a student in a Cultural Geography class I was teaching requested help finding a way to go overseas to do construction work to help people in need. He spent 2 years with Habitat in Central America. He left as a boy came home as a good man. He and I have been supporters ever since.

I was very honored to be on a Habitat build with President Carter and 1st Lady Rosalynn in San Jose! President Carter inspired us and we continue to be a small part of the Carter Center! Attended the funeral services online and was very sad, for we lost a great yet humble and loving president!

I had the good fortune to meet and shake hands with President Carter when he visited Athens, Georgia in August, 1980. For me, who had served as a member of his “Peanut Brigade” in 1976, it was a most thrilling moment. President Carter was a great humanitarian, a man of honor and integrity, and of faith. His service to our country and to the world will be long remembered for a job well done!

President Carter will always be an example of selflessness and the power of love to overcome the hardest of challenges. A man of the word as a living example and proof of the power of his faith. God speed, fair winds and following seas to a real patriot.

President Carter was a peaceful, gentle and quiet man of great faith and with his time and efforts with Habitat he became a living example of that faith. His death is a great loss not just to Habitat but for the whole world. RIP President Carter you will be greatly missed.

I will always remember President Jimmy Carter with admiration for his humanitarianism. I can't think of another president for which I can say the same. I believe he will be remembered as a man of integrity by those who appreciate his contributions to mankind, and as a man who truly cared and always tried to do the right thing. These for me are the qualities of a great leader. He was a rare man. The quality of which we may never see again in public life. He exemplified for me what a good Christian should be. Thank you President Carter for your long life of service to the common man.

After reading about Habitat for Humanity in a book written by Jimmy Carter, I became involved in Habitat for many years across many states. He was an inspiration to many and will be missed.

I will never forget working alongside the president when he and Rosalynn came to Oakland a few years ago. He inspired so many with his skills and his kind gentle words. Wage peace!

President Jimmy Carter was a wonderful man. He and his beloved wife Rosalynn's acts of kindness for every human being will be one of their greatest legacies. He is united now with his beloved wife and heavenly father. You both are resting high in heaven now.

One of the first Presidential campaigns I worked in, at 16. I could not vote but voted for Carter in 1980. A true inspiration in good works.

I truly honor and respect your dad. I always have and always will. I try to continue acts of servitude. I will never be able to match your dad’s acts of love and accomplishments. His acceptance of the lbgtq population and Palestine statehood. How prolific! I’m sure your dad had to hold his Christian tongue when observing the decline of government ethics. He was a remarkable man.

I will always remember President Carter’s integrity, decency, and humility. He always served humanity, both in the presidency and many years later in many projects. The one that has particular meaning to me is Habitat for Humanity, where my husband volunteered during his retirement. President Carter left the world a better place.

Time and time again we are blessed to see and experience humanity displaying the best versions of themselves. President J. Carter did just that. He showed the country and the world how to take authority with dignity and honor. Thank you Carter family for sharing your father with us. He will be truly missed.

One of the most memorable moments of my life was meeting President and Mrs. Carter during a work project for Habitat in San Diego, Ca. If only we had more men of character as President Carter.

I have always respected and admired President Carter. I had the privilege of meeting him one time. His care for others was always evident. After retiring, I was looking for something to do and give back. When I found Habitat for Humanity on a Church service project. That was 20 years ago. I loved the mission, I love our weekly “Family” Crew, and I love the Habitat Staff. If you have not read the book “If I had a Hammer,” I would encourage you to do so. He was a man who lived his faith out loud, unashamedly and unabashedly. He’s a man that I will always admire. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to his family. I’m sad that I never got to know him personally. But having read his multiple books, I feel like I have some insight into him as a person. He will be missed!
