Jimmy Carter truly a mountain of a man; true to his word. If everyone would follow his example, there could be peace and prosperity for everyone in the world. My favorite Democratic President. Led by example until his final days. May his legacy live on forever and reach the minds, hearts and souls of all in the world.

Over the years Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter sent me some lovely Christmas cards with Jimmy's wonderful art on them. I have a Christmas card with Jimmy's self portrait on it and another card where he painted some beautiful red and yellow birds sitting on the branches of a tree. I think the birds are finches. Many, many years ago I went to a book signing where Jimmy was present and signed the books we purchased at that event. Jimmy was behind a plexiglass window for his safety. He looked very busy signing all the books. I just love Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. In my heart he is one of the very best Presidents we have ever known. Jimmy and Rosalynn have a beautiful family. What a lovely place Jimmy and Rosalynn have been laid to rest.

Thank you President Carter for a lifetime of service to our nation and to the disinherited. Your determination and drive to make safe and affordable housing available for those who otherwise would not have the opportunity is a legacy that will live on and on. The power you always displayed was what Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. referred to as love in action. Well done Mr. President.

Thank you for continuing into your final days to stand up for what is right.

Certainly a President of the kind we have not seen in a very long time. He had a high moral code, he spoke and lived his faith. A role model for generations of our society yet alive to see him in action and for those yet to come as they reflect on history. Kindness, integrity, honesty, humbleness and servanthood to humanity….much is his wonderful and heartfelt legacy! Bless your example President Carter and Rosalynn your dedicated, loving lifelong partner. May your reunion be grand and great be your reward for lives well lived. You both have been “good and faithful servants” of your Creator.

I had the privilege of getting to know Pres. Carter over a span of several years. From our first chance meeting on a plane flying into Atlanta in 1990 to our quarterly board meetings at the Carter Center in more recent years; every encounter with him further impressed his heartwarming qualities of humility, approachability and sense of humor deep within my heart. The world has lost a great soul.

Ah! Such men come once a century. As a young man in Nigeria striving as a university undergraduate to attach myself to a worthy international cause, Late President Jimmy Carter's life, simplicity, and selflessness in building homes for the needy across the world, inspired me to find a career in a noble cause. Today, I work in an international nongovernment organization following the same footsteps. Thank you for your inspiring leadership in the service of humanity and for making the world a better place for me and others to come. WE SHALL NOT FORGET!
