I was proud to vote for President Carter twice. My wife and I truly loved the Carters. Their kindness and dedication to service was an inspiration for so many people, and will forever be missed. Jimmy and Rosalynn are holding hands tonight. So let’s not mourn but rejoice in a life well lived.

When I was a boy my mother first shared with me all of the wonderful things that Jimmy Carter did in his presidency. She then went on to tell me of even more he did with Habitat for Humanity. I was also inspired by his steadfast faith. My family has always been involved in the service industry and trying to help volunteer to bring joy to people. I eventually got into the trades help and those who have difficulty helping themselves at their current stage in life. Following president Jimmy Carter’s example, and the wonderful compassion had for others, I always be inspired by his generosity, steadfastness, and never wavering faith. I will continue lifting peoples spirits as President Jimmy Carter did for so many years.

Jimmy Carter was the first president I voted for. In autumn 1976, I was a college freshman and campaigned for him on my campus. He was so popular with young people; a true “everyman.” I was still 17 and couldn’t vote for him in ‘76, but 4 years later in ‘80, I proudly cast my first presidential vote for Carter-Mondale. I am 65 now and will miss my hero every day. Bless you, President Carter!

President Carter was the first president I came to know ultimately because of Camp David and his humanity. During his presidency, we were forced to leave our country and migrated to the US. I loved how he cared about people and certainly his zeal for Habitat for Humanity. Well done, humble servant of Lord. RIP

My son Jason worked for Habit for Humanity. I went to visit him in Americas GA. I wanted to meet President Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carder. We waited a bit to have our picture taken with them. He and Rosalynn were so gracious, and my son and I had a picture taken with them. He taught Sunday school at the church when he was in town. Peace makers and helping the poor help themselves. God bless.

Jimmy Carter’s life was one of profound service, guided by his deep faith, unwavering kindness, and an abiding commitment to helping others. Reflecting on his remarkable journey, it’s hard not to feel a deep sense of gratitude for all he did—and a deep sense of loss at the thought of a world without his unique presence. His legacy, both as the 39th President of the United States and in the years that followed, sets a standard that not only defined what it means to lead, but what it means to be a person of integrity and compassion.
What stands out most about Carter is the way he lived a life of giving back. After leaving the White House, he didn’t retire from public service—he doubled down. Through the Carter Center, he worked tirelessly to fight disease, promote peace, and ensure that human rights were upheld around the globe. He didn’t just talk about making a difference; he rolled up his sleeves and did it, whether it was building homes with Habitat for Humanity or traveling to remote parts of the world to fight for health and justice. In all of this, he exemplified the highest ideals of selflessness.
But beyond his accomplishments, it was Carter’s character that left an indelible mark on all who knew him, and on the country as a whole. His personal faith was the foundation of everything he did, and his kindness was a light in the often divisive world of politics. In a time when so many seem to seek power for their own gain, Carter demonstrated what it means to lead with humility, compassion, and a focus on service over self-interest. He set the standard for what a true public servant should be.
As we reflect on his life, there’s a quiet sadness knowing that the world has lost such a rare soul. His absence leaves a gap not just in the political realm, but in the broader moral fabric of our society. We will miss his steady, gentle presence—his reminder that leadership is not about what you take, but what you give. We will miss the way his faith and kindness guided every decision, every action, every word. Jimmy Carter was a living example of how to lead with heart, and that is something we desperately need today.

President Carter was in office when I was in middle school/high school in Germany. My favorite memory is reading about the treehouse he had built for Amy on the White House lawn. Many years later I got to work on a Habitat for Humanity house with my daughter in Tulsa. I have supported the program for years and will continue to do so in his honor. Rest with God, President Carter. You’ll be missed.

December 29, 2024 was a sad day for me when I heard President Jimmy Carter had passed away, even though I knew it was inevitable. Whenever I think of President Carter, I think of a genuinely godly man, a true humanitarian, his love for mankind, our country and especially for God. We all should follow the example of Jimmy Carter. If we, as a nation followed his example of love, honor and respect for our country and society we would have a much more peaceful, safer and loving country. Thank you President Carter for your dedication, leadership and utmost respect for mankind. You will be truly missed. It is also an honor to be part of the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento crew. Respectfully from a friend you never met.

Jimmy Carter entered my life when I was 18 and eligible to vote in the 1976 Presidential Election. I voted for then Governor Carter to be our next President and so he was. Four years later I graduated from college and decided to work for President Carter’s re-election campaign. Although he did not win that election, he did win my heart. I vividly remember shaking his hand when he arrived at Hanscom Field AFB in MA, along with my mother, as President. Like him, she was a lifelong Democrat, devoted to volunteer causes her entire life. His hand shake was warm and strong, and simply unforgettable. President Carter was a senior cadet at the Naval Academy the year my wonderful father entered as a plebe. All are resting in peace now.
