President Carter, you were the first president I voted for when I was 18. I admired your character and kindness. I remember how you advised everyone to turn down the thermostat and put on a sweater and I still do that today as well as other energy reduction and environmental impact practices. I also admired you and your beautiful Rosalynn working for decades with Habitat for Humanity.

You have been positive influence for the people of Georgia as well as the United States. A great leader for positive change to better mankind. You will be fondly remembered for a very long time, hopefully many of our young people take lessons and will go to achieve great things using you as an example.

President Jimmy Carter was a humanitarian whose mission was to make the world a better place to live. He worked tirelessly toward this end. He set an example we can all follow, to “love thy neighbor.” His benevolent work extended worldwide, and he leaves a legacy of caring, sharing and doing. He lived a devout Christian life putting his Faith into action. Condolences to his family and the world.

Jimmy was a shining example of living a life of purpose. Everything he did his entire life was driven by the desire to do good and help human beings. He is truly one of the last real American heroes. Today I made a donation to Habitat for Humanity in memory of President Jimmy Carter, a lifelong humanitarian who gave so much of his life to this organization! May he Rest in Peace.

How wonderful to think of so many who, like me, are inspired and reinvigorated by the life and activity of Jimmy Carter! One of my first actions after learning of his death at 100 was to make a generous donation to Habitat for Humanity.

In 1981 I got to shake President Carter's hand after he landed at TSTI in Waco, TX. He made a lasting impression on me.

I was a hard-core conservative republican in my freshman year in college. I was impressed by Carter, even though I voted for Reagan. I sent a letter to the White House with the aforementioned info, and received a personal, hand-signed letter thanking me. Nothing but PURE CLASS from the Carters. And BTW, I'm no longer a Republican... 😅

It is heartening to see how President and Mrs. Carter's dedication to Habitat for Humanity served as a bridge, helping those who are comfortably housed understand the need for so many others to have partners in securing affordable and decent housing. I saw this as the executive director of the Philadelphia Habitat affiliate. They led others to awareness and compassion.

President Carter's presidency and post-presidency were marked by his deep commitment to human rights and compassion, values that resonated profoundly with immigrants and families who moved to North America. Carter's efforts to create inclusive policies and his emphasis on human dignity reflected his belief in fairness and opportunity for all, regardless of their origins.

My stand-out memories of seeing a former president in the news were those of Jimmy Carter— hardhat on his head and hammer in hand, doing what he could to build houses with Habitat. He was a hugely compassionate and wonderful man who will not be forgotten.

When my daughter was in high school she and I volunteered at Habitat for Humanity in the East Bay in California to build playhouses. It was a wonderful and useful experience. It was very rewarding to know that we were helping to simply, without obligation, bring joy to children who would not otherwise experience the joy of their very own playhouse.

When Jimmy Carter was elected I was so pleased, excited and wanted to help his administration be successful . I quit my job in Minnesota and moved to Washington to work for HUD where I was proud to serve under President Carter and the very able and caring people he appointed at HUD. I left for Maryland when his term was up knowing that the HUD programs that I managed to improve housing justice would not be the same under Reagan. I was pleased to have the chance once years later to talk to him and tell him what a great honor it had been to work for him and experience the goodness and search for justice that prevailed in politics at that time. He could not have been kinder or more modest. I loved Jimmy Carter and he inspired me to keep on trying to make the world a better place. We should all be challenged in the hard and mean times ahead to keep the vision of what real goodness and caring means.

Jimmy Carter and his beloved wife Rosalynn were among the most extraordinary and kind-hearted people we have ever had the privilege to meet. We were fortunate to spend a day with them and other community supporters at their beautiful farm in Americus, Georgia, and it was nothing short of magical. The day was filled with warmth and serenity, as they made us feel like family with their genuine humility and graciousness. The following day, we had the honor of attending their intimate church service, just a stone's throw from their home, where Jimmy led an incredibly moving service that touched our hearts deeply. We are forever grateful to them for showing us what true generosity and the spirit of giving truly look like. Thank you, Jimmy and Rosalynn, for being shining examples of compassion and kindness.

Above all, Jimmy and Rosalynn gave us wonderful examples of living a life of love and service. Memories of them lift us all.

President Carter's legacy will live on and provide inspiration on how to help one another in a much needed time of chaos. We need more people like him.

I was employed at Habitat for Humanity International once upon a time, and my memory will always be the great work I got to be involved in. The Carters were so fully engaged and devoted to humanitarian work, and that, to me, will be their legacy.

I was inspired by President Carter in many ways, but perhaps none more than his dedication to volunteerism and his example with Habitat for Humanity. I received way more than I gave in my work on Habitat builds and at ReStores. He changed my life.

I worked alongside him on a Carter Work Project ... a truly remarkable leader, generous and kind, and a good builder to boot! We will all miss him. I can only hope and pray that future leaders will strive to be as good as he was.
