I first learned of Habitat via Jimmy Carter and an interview I heard with him in 1996 — his inspiring words and hard work has lead me to be a Habitat supporter for the past 30 years. The world would be a better place if more men and women of integrity and caring stepped up. The world has lost a little care without Jimmy and Rosalynn. RIP and god bless.

President Carter was the first U.S. president I voted for as I turned 18 that year. I always thought he was one of the greatest presidents in a very difficult time. The rest of the country began to see the man he was after he served in that office. Rest in peace, Jimmy Carter, the world has lost a great man.

Dear loved ones of President Jimmy Carter, I don't have to tell you what an extraordinary man he was. I have been a big fan of this humanitarian for a long time. I built a house with Habitat for Humanity about 14 years ago and am so fortunate and grateful to be living in my own house. To see fairly recent photos of Jimmy and Rosalynn working on houses is both humbling and inspiring. I hope this helps in your time of grief. Peace and love to you all. Caroline in Wilton, NH

Jimmy Carter was the first president I voted for when I turned 18. I didn’t know much about politics but I knew he was a good man and deserving of my vote. I saw him stand up for people and for what’s right during and after his presidency was over. I became familiar with Habitat for Humanity thru my brother in law’s mother who helped bring Habitat for Humanity to Washington State. Today my granddaughter has qualified for a Habitat home. To say I’m grateful and amazed by Jimmy Carter’s life and service doesn’t seem to be enough. We lost a great one today.
