I attended the Sunday School Service at Marantaha Baptist in 2007 taught by Mr. Carter. I will always remember their little church and how they welcomed people from all over the world that day. It was an extremely cold February day, but they stayed outside and let everyone have photos taken with them. Our country will be blessed with the spirit of these two. Rest in Peace Mr. President. You leave this world a much better place because of your work and your commitment to public service. The millions of Americans who have benefitted from your accomplishments will never be able to express their gratitude adequately, but hopefully you and your wonderful wife felt the love. I send sincere condolences to the family.

President Carter’s compassion, kindness, and commitment to human rights have inspired so many to work for justice over the years, but one of his greatest strengths was his optimism; the belief that by working together in community with one another, we can achieve a world where every family has a safe place to call home. Until that day, we will continue to build in his honor. RIP, President Carter.
