From a distance, since I live in Colombia, I remember Mrs. Carter's activities. I give thanks for the works she did.

I remember being at one of my first National Conferences in Atlanta - in 2017, I think. President Carter and Mrs. Carter came out onto the stage in the opening session and they were holding hands! They walked towards the lectern and Pres. Carter motioned for her to speak first. It was the sweetest thing! It was like he was saying “Ladies first!” What a wonderful couple they were!

I had the honor of co-hosting President and Mrs. Carter when they visited the University of Florida in the early 90s, and sitting next to Mrs. Carter at dinner. She recommended me to serve on the Carter election observation team in Guyana.

The Carters have lived their values and have been such motivators demonstrating that we can all make a difference. Rosalynn was independent and a true equal of Jimmy, I have so much respect for her. Rest in peace Rosalynn and sympathy to the Carter family.

I joined Habitat in 1996 & built homes in every state, driving my small RV with dog Benji from Alaska to Florida. In Georgia, I built with Rosalynn and Pres Jimmy & attended services at their Baptist church where he preached. I have a unique photo of me with both of them on each side proudly displayed in my home. His Mom, Lillian, inspired me to join Peace Corps--I'm now 92. Blessings & RIP

I've been on two Carter Work Project builds, the first being in 1999 (I think) in South Korea. The Carters were so full of energy and encouraging and made a point to stay after the welcome ceremony to shake hands and meet anyone who wanted to meet them with the admonition “because tomorrow we're all going to be building homes not stopping for pictures.” They are America's “Better Angel's”!

Rosalynn's life embodied 2 Corinthians 9:7, So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. We could see this through her work with Habitat and throughout the country.

I look back over my life and see the Carters as a symbol of what is right in the world. Rosalynn set the tone for all future presidential spouses. Both while in office and especially after. Her passion for giving will be hard to match while I hope all do make the attempt. The world needs their passion and dedication to benefit mankind.

Mrs. Carter has been the greatest role model for a First Lady that our nation has ever been honored to have. Only Eleanor Roosevelt matched the far-reachimg positive impacts she had on the U.S. and the world. She's an inspiration for what true compassion and moral courage and leadership should be. May she rest in peace and power. The world thanks the Carter family for sharing her with us all.

I was part of the Eagle Butte, SD Habitat Build. I met Rosalynn Carter while we tried to scrub stain off of our hands after preparing woodwork. That build inspired the community of Pierre, SD 90 miles south of Eagle Butte to create Oahe HFH. I served as the first President of Oahe HFH. I went on to participate at the 25th Anniversary of HFH at the build in Georgia again with the Carters there.

I worked with The Carters on their Thailand build with Jet Li while I was on an overseas tour of duty in Chiang Mai Thailand with the consulate. I regret I didn’t introduce myself and let them know I was from Andersonville, GA. She was so kind to everyone as usual. It was hot that day I was worried they would get exhausted in the heat. They both did better than me as I had to sit out for an hour.

Our prayers are with the Carter family as their wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother returned to her heavenly home. She was an angel among us. Her life was lived as a witness of God’s grace, mercy and forgiveness. We join you in missing her presence in this world but, do know she will also live in our hearts and memories. May we help you carry your sorrow as you celebrate her life lived with such deep love for all.
