We are so deeply grateful to the Carter’s who continued give back beyond their time in the White House. Our church property will be used by Habitat for Humanity to build 16 homes and a home and ADU that will be used by the Presbytery of San Gabriel for Mission uses. Jesus has taught us to love peace, do justice, and walk humbly with our God. God bless Rosalynn Carter who was a faithful Saint!

When I was a young single mother in the 70s, (Jimmy was running for office) I received a really nice care package from the Carters, every year I would receive a Christmas card with a hand written note from the Carters with words of encouragement and hope. When I got on my feet and the children left home, I had one last sweet one saying it is time to move it forward.

I have met President Jimmy Carter, but never had the pleasure of meeting his lovely wife. I do know that she was a sort of quiet firebrand who beautifully exemplified the dignity and graciousness of a true Southern Belle. They have both been role models for faithfulness and human decency for many decades. There is a special place in Heaven for the two of them.

I have been grateful for the work of Habitat and the Carters for many years. My most memorable experience was working to build a Habitat house in Philadelphia, alongside other volunteers and the family who would be occupying the house. We attended the outdoor ceremony where the family took possession of the house. Rewarding and thrilling to see the joy of the family and our volunteer team.

Last century, a couple of friends went with me to a Habitat Build to “get their hands dirty.” We got into work groups and went to grab snacks/OJ. We walked up & the two volunteers staffing it turned around. Sure enough it was President and Mrs. “C”. They'd flown in last night and she already knew the whole family history. Total grace, classy, she worked 18 hrs and rocked the 2 yr old to sleep
