A sweet and compassionate woman that we will miss. Thank you for all the many smiles that you have put on others faces. It was an honor to be able to be a part of the Carter Work Project in Charlotte, North Carolina this year.

She has been an image of humility and kindness as reflected in her works in Habitat for Humanity. Indeed, a beautiful example of a decent human being should be. We are at a loss as Equal Housing and the world at large for losing such a person of noble character.

In 1979, President Carter and the first lady exerted lots of efforts to Help our country and Israel to sign a peace treaty at Camp David. We will remember their cordial support so that peace prevails everywhere.

In a world so full of discord and hate, Mrs. Carter stands out as a compassionate, gracious woman who dedicated much of her life after leaving the White House to helping others. She set such a wonderful example to all Americans of how we can actually care about our neighbors and volunteer to help those in need ~ either by giving of our time or our money. For Mrs. Carter's efforts, she was rewarded by having a long life and the respect of many. She was truly a beautiful lady.

A truly good person for whom we are so grateful to have had in this world. Deeds, not just words. Thoughts are with President Carter, their family, and community.

I have fond memories of the time I met President and Mrs. Carter. I am a longtime supporter of Habitat for Humanity due to these memories.

The Carter Family is in my thoughts today. Rosalynn was a remarkable woman and will be dearly missed.

Was honored to meet Mrs. Carter at several Habitat builds in DC (1992 & 2010), Pikeville, KY and Americus, GA, as well as twice after President Carter’s Sunday school class in Plains.

I have been with Habitat for Humanity for 2 years and 3 months but I have read, heard and felt the great love that the Carters have had for the work that Habitat does. They poured out their hearts, time and resources in different ways, to help out vulnerable communities in different parts of the world to have a decent place to live. We all know that behind a God fearing, powerful and successful man is an equally God fearing, powerful and successful lady. Mrs. Carter believed in and whole heartedly supported her husband, enormously contributing to and making a huge leap in Habitat's work in different parts of the world. May the Good Lord Rest her Soul in Eternal Peace! AMEN.

Thanks Rosalynn Carter for your great and invaluable contributions to the many underserved communities. Let me tell you that you have registered your name in the hearts of many vulnerable Tanzanians who benefited from your service. I pray that God comfort your family and the entire humanitarian community in this grief time.

My brother, Boyd C. Paulson, Jr., was involved with the first multi-family Habitat building in Palo Alto, CA. While developing the first low-income housing course at Stanford University, he insisted that his engineering students volunteer with Habitat for Humanity while taking his classes. His most tremendous honor was meeting President Carter and Rosalynn Carter in Georgia. Lucky him!

Thank you Mrs Carter for setting such an extraordinary example of how a servants heart truly lives for the benefit of all of mankind. I applaud you for your strength, courage, and commitment in having always done the right thing. I too feel empowered with compassion and love in Christ to always stand up for all people without an ally and make a difference in their lives. God bless the family.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs. Carter. She was such a fine and gracious lady, and a true example of everything that is great in America. Our condolences to the entire Carter family. Mrs. Rosalynn will be truly missed.

This is what I know her for most of all. How unfeminine of her to put on jeans and a hard hat, then saw boards and hammer nails. A presidents wife from the richest country in the world, it’s First Lady. How dare she put a lifetime of inspiration and pride in my heart so much so that still it runs down my cheeks from my eyes remembering. Because she did, I too helped build a home in Morgantown, WV.

We hope God will find another person who can keep doing the best for the Habitat.
