Habitat for Humanity is assessing long-term housing and disaster recovery needs in Florida communities devastated by Hurricane Ian.
Several Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the state of Florida are assessing damage in communities across the state and will be engaged in long-term recovery efforts to help Florida communities build back from the devastating effects of Hurricane Ian.

Habitat affiliates in Florida are working closely with partner organizations to gather emergency supplies, such as bottled water, non-perishable food, baby food and diapers, to deliver to individuals and families in affected areas as soon as it is safe to enter.
Previous experience has demonstrated that recovery from a major storm like Hurricane Ian can take many years. Habitat for Humanity’s post-disaster recovery efforts will focus on meeting the long-term housing needs of disaster-affected areas, primarily by repairing damaged homes and building affordable, disaster-resistant homes.
Habitat’s work in communities depends on support from donors, volunteers and other community organizations. To help fund recovery efforts related to Hurricane Ian, visit the Habitat for Humanity of Florida Hurricane Ian Recovery Fund. These resources will be allocated to Habitat affiliates in communities across the state where recovery efforts will take place.
