Hubbell Foundation continues partnership with Habitat for Humanity, donating funds to COVID-19 relief
ATLANTA (Feb. 8, 2021) — The Harvey Hubbell Foundation, the charitable foundation managed by Hubbell Incorporated, today announced it is continuing its partnership with Habitat for Humanity, contributing $100,000 to Habitat’s Homes, Communities, Hope + You campaign. The international manufacturer’s donation will help local Habitat organizations better serve families during the global pandemic and provide mortgage forbearance to households that need support.
The Homes, Communities, Hope + You campaign is Habitat for Humanity’s network-wide initiative developed in the wake of COVID-19 to support Habitat’s work in communities across the United States and around the world. Hubbell’s support of the initiative will help Habitat strengthen communities and assist families with the economic impacts of the pandemic.
“This year more than ever, our homes have been our sanctuaries and The Hubbell Foundation is proud to support Habitat in their efforts to help everyone have a safe place to call home,” commented Alicia DiGennaro, Hubbell Foundation Trustee and director of corporate communications for Hubbell Incorporated. “Through our support, we can help Habitat homeowners stay in the homes they have worked so hard for and continue to strengthen their communities.”
“We’re grateful for Hubbell’s support in helping us address the housing crisis made worse by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Julie Laird Davis, vice president of corporate and cause marketing partnerships at Habitat for Humanity International. “Decent, affordable housing has an immense effect on a family’s wellbeing and Hubbell’s donation will help support more families.”
Hubbell and Habitat for Humanity began their partnership in 2016. Through Hubbell’s corporate social responsibility program, the manufacturer has also encouraged employees to volunteer for Habitat and build homes alongside Habitat homeowners.
About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
