Boll & Branch partners with Habitat for Humanity to expand access to affordable housing

Boll & Branch is donating a portion of pre-holiday sales to Habitat for Humanity

SUMMIT, N.J. and ATLANTA (Oct. 2, 2020)  Boll & Branch, a designer and retailer of sustainable home goods, and Habitat for Humanity are partnering to help make affordable housing solutions accessible for thousands of families before the holiday season. From Oct. 3 – Nov. 3, the retailer, through its Helping from Home program, will donate 10% of each purchase made in-store and online to Habitat for Humanity, up to a total donation of $150,000.

Boll & Branch and Habitat share the belief that everyone deserves the comfort of home. The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic climate have contributed to alarming housing inequality rates and magnified the fundamental importance of having safe, decent and affordable shelter. Prior to the pandemic, millions of families around the world were already experiencing unhealthy living conditions, lack of access to clean water and the financial strain of unaffordable housing costs. The pandemic has only exacerbated these dire conditions.

“The need for safe, decent and affordable homes has never been greater. At Boll & Branch, we believe that home can be a force for good. It’s why we started a textile company that lives up to the promise of a safer, sounder and more comfortable home,” said Scott Tannen, Boll & Branch founder and CEO. “Home is something we all need in order to thrive, and we are so proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity this fall to ensure that more families can enjoy homes of their own this holiday season.”

Boll & Branch launched its Helping from Home initiative earlier this year and donated mattresses and pillows to underserved communities. When difficult situations arise, the company takes a community-centered approach and seeks to give customers a way to participate in the solution, by creating a framework through which to donate appropriate goods or funds.

About Habitat for Humanity

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
