Ames True Temper® donates more than $660,000 in tools to Habitat for Humanity

25,000 lawn and garden tools will support post-Hurricane Irene and Susquehanna Valley flood response projects in Pennsylvania and New Jersey

CAMP HILL, Penn. (Nov. 15, 2011) – Ames True Temper announced today a gift-in-kind donation of lawn and garden tools to Habitat for Humanity. The donation, worth more than 660,000, includes over more than 25,000 Craftsman-branded lawn and garden tools. As the manufacturer of the Craftsman non-powered lawn and garden products, Ames True Temper partnered with Sears to coordinate this donation.

The donation is for Habitat for Humanity affiliates and their Habitat ReStore resale outlets in multiple counties and metro areas throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition to ongoing Habitat for Humanity home construction and refurbishment projects, the donation will support post-Hurricane Irene and Susquehanna Valley flood response projects.

“We are honored to partner with Habitat for Humanity in its mission to build, rehabilitate and repair safe and affordable housing, especially in the wake of the recent mid-Atlantic flooding and effects of Hurricane Irene,” said Joe Saffron, director of marketing and product development, Ames True Temper. “We understand the importance of an adequate home environment, and we are pleased that these high-quality tools will be used to help Habitat build and revitalize homes and strengthen communities.”
