Springs Global and Habitat for Humanity Join Forces to Benefit Families and Communities Around the World
New York City (November 1, 2011)– Springs Global US, the home furnishings company with offices and factories worldwide, is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to help create additional decent and affordable housing opportunities in partnership with low-income families. The partnership will include a range of cause marketing programs, in-kind product donations and employee engagement.
As part of the partnership, effective Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2012, Springs Global will direct a portion of the sales made on their flagship brands’ websites to Habitat for Humanity. The Springmaid brand comprises delightful, whimsical collections for bed, bath and tabletop each of which surprises with ingenious details. Recently added to the Springmaid family is the franchise Springmaid Garden of Surprise & Delight, featuring one-of-a-kind surprises and special edition delights for the home every day. The Wamsutta brand encompasses luxurious bed and bath collections designed to wow the senses with innovative color, refined beauty, classic styling and uncompromised quality. During the designated timeframe, the shopping experience on www.springmaid.com, www.springmaidgarden.com and www.wamsutta.com will be a charitable one with 10 percent of every sale benefitting Habitat for Humanity.
In addition to donating financial resources, the Springs Global partnership broadens the philanthropic efforts by committing to employee volunteer time in Habitat’s A Brush with Kindness New York City program. A Brush with Kindness is an exterior home preservation program designed to help low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes.
“Each year, Habitat for Humanity mobilizes nearly 1 million volunteers to build, rehabilitate and repair homes and hope around the globe,” said Joe Granger, President of Springs Global. “Springs Global is pleased to join that number. We are committed to Habitat’s global efforts to develop thriving communities by both building and renovating homes in partnership with people in need of affordable housing.”
To kick off the partnership, Springs Global has designed and donated a multi-use Tyvek bag for the volunteers of this year’s Habitat for Humanity Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. The 28th annual build event will take place in Léogâne, Haiti, from Nov. 5-12 as part of Habitat for Humanity’s commitment to provide permanent housing in partnership with 50,000 Haitian families affected by the 2010 earthquake.
“We are thrilled to enter into this partnership with Springs Global,” said Chris Clarke, Habitat for Humanity International’s senior vice president of Marketing and Communications. “When a company devotes both resources and volunteers, the impact of the partnership deepens. We look forward to an innovative and long-lasting relationship with Springs Global to benefit families and communities around the world.”
