Habitat for Humanity is a non-governmental, non-profit global organization, that works so that people have a decent place to live. Habitat has an active presence in 16 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean , as well as unique partnerships throughout the region.
Latin America and the Caribbean
In 1979, Habitat for Humanity opened its doors in Guatemala, the first country in Latin America and the second country outside of the United States (after the Democratic Republic of Congo). Today, Habitat for Humanity has served almost 450.000 families in Latin America and the Caribbean through home construction, renovations and critical home repairs or increased access to improved shelter through products and services.
