Uttarakhand Disaster Appeal

Large areas of Uttarakhand state in northern India have been deluged by pre-monsoon rain leading to severe flooding and landslides. Over 1,000 people have died and numbers are expected to rise. Tens of thousands of families have been affected and many have lost their homes.

Habitat for Humanity India will be providing emergency shelter and hygiene kits in the immediate relief stage, providing transitional shelter, repairing or rebuilding homes as operations move into the recovery phase, and conducting disaster risk management training in local communities to mitigate the effects of future disasters.
