HONG KONG, 7th August 2011: More than 500 people turned up to support Habitat for Humanity China’s brick race held in Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

The event in July raised about HK220,000 (US28,230).

Guests of honor were Hong film director Clifton Ko, also a member of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, and Hong Kong singers William Chan and Sherman Chung.

Local entertainers Adason Lo, German Ku and Danny Choi joined the participants who carried plastic “bricks” along a 4 km. route.

At the end of the race, participants laid the bricks to build a symbolic house to represent Habitat’s mission of a place where everyone has a decent place to live.
