MANILA, 7th August 2011: World boxing champion and Habitat for Humanity Philippines Hero Ambassador Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao unveiled his partnership with Habitat for Humanity to build homes for low-income families.
The project will look to build homes on Mindanao island, especially in Saragani province which he represents as a congressman.
Pacquiao is a WBO welterweight Super Champion and currently rated the world’s Number One pound-for-pound boxer.
He will provide the land in Sarangani on which HFH Philippines will build the first 100 houses in the initial phase of their joint project to fight poverty through decent housing.
Pacquiao said: “I have a wonderful dream for my kababayans (Tagalog for fellow Filipino or countrymen) in Mindanao, particularly in Sarangani. My dream is that each family will live in a decent home and in safe and secure communities.”
