Cerebos To Build Five Houses With HFH Thailand Using Empty Brand’s Bottles As Floor Filler

First Test Build Completed; Cerebos Staff To Help Build Remaining Four Houses

BANGKOK, 21st October 2010: Cerebos Pacific has donated US70,000 to Habitat for Humanity Thailand in a partnership to build five houses with empty Brand’s Essence of Chicken bottles being used as a filler in laying cement floor foundations.

Empty Brand’s Chicken of Essence bottles were used as a filler for the cement floor foundation of a test build house in Pathumthani province .

The Singapore-based food and health supplements company behind the ubiquitous tonic drink, earlier launched a campaign, “Hope In A Bottle”, in Singapore for the public to donate 10,000 empty Essence bottles.

Eventually, a total of 20,000 empty Essence bottles were collected.

In September, HFH Thailand did a test build using just over 4,700 empty Essence bottles to fill in foundation of a 36 square meter house.

The remaining four houses will be built simultaneously in Nongsuea district in Pathumthani province.

About 30 volunteers from Cerebos are expected to help build the four houses in November.

Brand’s goodwill ambassadors Saksit Vejsupaporn and Nichkhun Horvejkul are also expected to join the build. Vejsupaporn is a Thai pop singer and pianist while Thai-born Horvejkul is currently a member of South Korean boy band 2PM.
