During his trip, Rattapoom is to film a reality TV show-cum-documentary highlighting different cultures as well as local dancing.
Rattapoom will first travel to Bueno Aires, Argentina, to attend tango dance classes. While he is there, he plans to build with Habitat home partners for a day. His next stop will be Seoul, South Korea, where he will be joining a Habitat build outside the capital city.
At the recent press conference in Bangkok, where his Habitat appointment was announced, Rattapoom called on Thai young people to be involved in eliminating poverty housing. He said: “This project was jointly initiated by Habitat for Humanity Thailand and RS to get rid of poverty housing, with the intention of providing adequate housing to low-income families through building or renovating houses. I will travel and see how Habitat works in different places…And I’ll join a house construction in Seoul, South Korea.”
“As for Thailand, I plan to go to the building sites during December 2007 to January 2008. At this moment, we are coordinating with public and private sectors who are interested in Habitat’s program. We are looking for support in the form of material and financial means. For those people who have no money to donate, especially the youth, they can do their part by volunteering in house construction for people in need.
In addition to having several albums under his belt, Rattapoom also acts in films. RS is the second-largest media conglomerate in Thailand and has a record label, radio stations, magazine publishing business, produces TV programs and makes films as well promote concerts.
