Senior Director - Business Services (Latin America and the Carribean)

Habitat for Humanity International is seeking an experienced and professional Senior Director of Business Services, The purpose of this position is to provide support and guidance in terms of systems, policies and procedures that will ensure appropriate support across Business Services functions. Through strengthening organizational effectiveness and ensuring greater coordination across the regional network and global teams, the SD, Business Services will directly enable increased impact of Habitat for Humanity International’s work. Senior Directors, Business Services will align across AO/s to ensure there is consistency and congruence in the areas of finance & administration, HR and IT.

Responsibilities:
* Provide inspirational leadership to the business services unit, and across the AO and regional network.
* Support the implementation of global and regional strategies, and planning processes, generating greater scale and higher impact for the Habitat network.
* Ensure National Office Directors and Boards have access to adequate data, and administrative information, for their strategies and organizational planning processes.
* Actively engage with the regional network to ensure the effective implementation of the regional strategy, including through capacity building and provision of expertise from the AO business services unit to branches and independent national organizations.
* Oversee and coordinate both direct, and dotted line, reports, to ensure implementation and reporting requirements are met, in accordance with HFHI standards, donor expectations, and local laws.
* Lead on the strategic provision of highest quality business services across the regional network and AO, monitoring achievement of organizational goals and development of a sustainable operational model.
* Serve as a key representative on business services, where relevant, with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Align, in part through working closely with the SD, Programs, business services capabilities across the network with programmatic goals of the regional strategy.
* Liaise between National Offices, the AO, and global teams in order to achieve Habitat’s growth goals, supporting the AVP in regular reviews of network performance.
* Support and enhance collaboration with HFHI’s global teams, including Legal, GRC & GCDR, by ensuring alignment with geographic priorities and broader needs within the region, and through coordination with fellow Senior
* Provide leadership and stewardship that supports HFHI’s Christian faith and values through active servant leadership, motivating Area Habitat staff members, serving partner families, and encouraging volunteers to follow the mission and vision of HFHI.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Unify and Regional Strategic Framework Plan Realization (50%)
* Hold direct teams and globalized administrative functions to account on the delivery of AO strategic framework.
* Liaise with global teams on the strategic enhancement of business services functions.
* Provide support to regional network in the implementation of Project Unify, as well as holding relevant teams to account in the delivery of strategies and organizational planning processes across the regional network.
* Support in AO and regional network realignment and resourcing processes including:
  • proper budget planning, analysis, monitoring of income and expenses of the AO as well as national programs in the region;
  • Monitoring grant management related processes;
  • Talent recruitment, hiring and compensation efforts in partnership with HR, to ensure AO and NOs are fit for purpose.
  • Workforce planning.
  • IT policies.
* Lead on the alignment of support structures, processes, and functions as these relate to business services functions (15%).
* Advise on organizational effectiveness for regional network, including finance, HR, and IT (15%).
* Manage contracts and collaborations with external partners, such as operations consultants and legal advisors, to advance regional goals (5%).
* Special Projects in support of AO VP (15%)
* To be specified – might include organizational effectiveness thought leadership efforts relating to internal and external stakeholders such as other AOs.

Required:
* 10+ years’ relevant experience in one of the following: finance, administration, HR, IT, and/or organizational effectiveness.
* An MBA is preferred for this role, other relevant qualifications in the areas of finance, HR and IT are a bonus.
* The demonstrated ability to understand financial management and budgeting including, but not limited to, grants and grant management is necessary.
* Senior leadership experience within complex, matrixed, ideally federated, organizational structures.
* An in-depth understanding of the complexity of overseeing and managing business services (finance & administration, HR, IT) in an international, ideally INGO, context, and supporting and developing colleagues that lead their respective areas of work.
* An understanding of the entire grant management cycle, including ensuring financial reporting systems meet donor requirements.
* Strong skillset relating to change management, organizational development and project management.
* Experience of working with a business partnering approach to achieve with others joint goals.
* Deep knowledge and experience working with an array of business service functions, with both direct and dotted-line reports.
* Strong level of confidence and relational skills to build trust, influence and interface with all levels of the Habitat network, external partners and a diversity of people.
* Capacity to lead and engage with a highly qualified and experienced team of leaders with regional and technical expertise.
* High degree of resourcefulness to lead projects that may not be clearly defined.
* Mission-driven and comfortable leading within, communicating about, and working within a Christian organization.
* Strong written, presentation and oral communication skills in English and Spanish.
* Bilingual: English and Spanish at a minimum. Other languages spoken in the Latin American region preferred.
