Homeowner Services Coordinator - Part Time - 2025-26

AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.
What will you do?
The Homeowner Services Coordinator builds and maintains the pipeline of homeowner families by leading efforts to recruit and educate qualified families for both homeownership and home repair opportunities. This role involves recruiting homeowner family applicants and serving as their point of contact as they go through the application process. Together with a family selection committee, you help select homeowner families for a variety of housing products including new home construction, repair or rehab of existing homes and weatherization projects.
- Coordinate existing programs to recruit homeowner applicants for traditional homeownership opportunities or for expanded housing products such rehab, repair or weather revitalization.
- Conduct applicant orientations and assist families throughout process of completing the housing application.
- Work with the family selection committee to select homeowner families based on established criteria and regulations.
- Work with the family services committee and staff to provide educational opportunities to homeowner families.
- On occasion, build alongside homeowner families as they complete their contract requirements.
This position will focus on homeowner services aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

- Activities and attractions: Beaches and the Atlantic coast are 2.5 hours to the east, and the Blue Ridge mountains are 3 hours to the west! Chapel Hill is a thriving college town with a plethora of amenities. In addition, Raleigh and Durham, NC are within a 20-30 minute drive from our office. Both areas offer an even wider variety of amenities and attractions including and extensive collection of historic sites, museums and parks. There is always something to do in the area!
- Unique projects: This roll will support two key projects in our Homeowner Services Department:
2. Homeownership HUB: There are many things that homeowners need to know about as they transition through each stage of homeownership. We are always working to expand our HUB of online resources that will help our homeowners navigate every phase of homeownership. Through this HUB, we are hoping to answer all sorts of questions like “how do I sell my home?” and “what happens when I pay off my home loan”. We have software that allows us to design videos for the HUB, and we frequently use Canva to design helpful infographics. We would love to see our AmeriCorps Homeowner Services Coordinator take the lead on our Homeownership HUB – this means that there is a lot of room for the member serving in this roll to create something that matches their personal vision and goals.
When will you serve?
Start dates are flexible and based on this location’s availability. Talk to the hiring manager for this position about start dates during your interview process. The start date will be 4-6 weeks from receiving an offer and no earlier than August 2025.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
