At a time when a safe and healthy home has never been more important, Habitat Humanitarians, designers and renovators Drew and Jonathan Scott joined Habitat for Humanity in Long Beach, California today to lead a volunteer build.
Earlier this year, The Annie Selke Companies donated $1 million dollars in rugs and bedding to their local Habitat for Humanity in support of affordable housing in Western Massachusetts. Now the company is expanding that partnership to help families around the world build strength and stability through shelter.
Habitat for Humanity International is pleased to announce the election of Mary Cameron, who previously served as former deputy minister of housing in two Canadian provinces, as the incoming chair of Habitat’s board of directors.
Kevin Walters has long been a champion of decent and affordable housing. In 2012, he helped revive Habitat Tucson’s Rainbow Build, a build funded by LGBTQ+ organizations and individuals during which hundreds of LGBTQ+ community members and allies come together to volunteer.
Compass, Inc. has joined Habitat as a new partner and committed a donation of $200,000 to support the global housing organization’s mission of building safe, decent and affordable homes.
LEVOLOR is donating an additional $1 million in cordless metal blinds and cellular shades to the global housing nonprofit for use in new Habitat homes.
The Home Depot Foundation is extending their long-standing partnership with Habitat, granting more than $2 million to Habitat’s Repair Corps program to build, repair or rehabilitate veteran homes.
The donation, made through the Larson Family Foundation, will substantially help further Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
