By speaking with people in their communities, our fundraisers explain Habitat’s mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. We partner with people to build strength, stability, and self-reliance with families in need of decent, affordable housing.
Habitat has teamed up with trusted professional fundraising agencies who are focused on asking donors to support Habitat for Humanity on a regular basis, monthly, quarterly, annually. Recurring donations are the most cost-effective way to help sustain Habitat’s work and ensure that even more families can achieve affordable homeownership.

Engaging with communities on a personal level is central to our mission. Face-to-face fundraising allows our fundraisers to answer questions and discuss how Habitat empowers individuals to transform their lives by helping families build safe, affordable homes. By talking one-on-one, we can illustrate how regular gifts have a direct and lasting impact.

Habitat partners with two trusted canvassing agencies — Ascenta Group and GiveBridge. Here is how you can recognize a legitimate Habitat for Humanity fundraiser:
- Habitat-branded lanyard and photo ID badge with a unique fundraiser identification number.
- Habitat-branded vest, shirt, or jacket as well as official Habitat materials.
- A tablet with encrypted software for secure payment collection.
- They will also have in-depth knowledge of our programs, especially how recurring gifts help support families.
- They will never ask for cash gifts — only secure bank or credit card donations.

Habitat has partnered with Ascenta Group and GiveBridge to help us acquire recurring donors in communities across the country. We are actively canvassing in various cities and may travel to additional locations on short-term road trips. We look forward to expanding into more communities in the future!

Absolutely. Our tablets use encrypted software, and all financial data is transmitted to our secure servers and removed from the tablet immediately after processing. Once processed, your payment information is encrypted according to Payment Compliance Industry Standards. We value our donors’ trust and take all necessary measures to protect your information.

No. For the safety of both donors and fundraisers, we do not accept cash or coins. Instead, our canvassers can process:
- Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) directly from your bank account.
- Credit card payments (processed securely through our encrypted system).
