Senior IT Auditor

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) Internal Audit Department (IAD) is seeking a Senior IT Auditor who has at least five years of prior audit experience, a desire to be challenged, and a passion for doing meaningful work. Reporting to the Director of IAD, the Senior IT Auditor will be responsible for the design, plan, and implementation of the organization’s IT audit programs taking into consideration its risk assessments. In addition, the Senior IT Auditor will assist and support the IAD in developing and executing IT and operational audit procedures conducted in our HFHI international area offices, national organizations, branches, and affiliated entities located in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America and the Caribbean regions, as well as in the US, Canada, and our headquarter operations.

This position is preferable to be based at our administrative headquarters in Atlanta, GA on a hybrid basis, but it may also be remote within the US. It requires up to 60% international and domestic travel.

Responsibilities


*Develop and implement detailed audit plans and procedures for IT systems and processes.
*Conduct risk assessments to identify key areas of concern and prioritize audit activities.
*Execute audits of IT infrastructure, applications, databases, and security controls.
*Identify and evaluate IT-related risks and their potential impact on the organization.
*Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks and recommend control improvements.
*Monitor and track remediation efforts to ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
*Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
*Evaluate the effectiveness of IT controls and policies against established frameworks (e.g., COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001).
*Prepare audit reports, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
*Stay updated on emerging technologies, threats, and industry best practices.
*Provide guidance and training to junior auditors and other staff on IT audit methodologies and best practices.
*Collaborate with IT and business units to promote a culture of continuous improvement and risk awareness.
*Document audit findings, observations, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner..
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of audit activities, findings, and resolutions.
*Assists Internal Audit in the preparation of reports and presentations for board and Audit Committee meetings
*Supports other internal audit units and audit activities, as needed.

Requirements

*Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field.
*5+ years of experience in IT auditing, information security, or a related field.
*In-depth knowledge of IT systems, networks, databases, and security controls.
*Familiarity with audit and risk management frameworks (e.g., COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001).
*Proficiency in using audit management software and tools.
*Strong Knowledge of MS Office applications and Office 365.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*High level of integrity and ethical standards.
*Strong ability to give attention to detail in addition to organization and project management skills.
*Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with all employees irrespective of their status in the organization.

Preferred

*Professional certifications such as CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), or CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control)

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance. For work locations in the US, the hiring range for this position is $84,150 to $99,000.
