J.M. Huber Corporation expands partnership with Habitat for Humanity
Firm increases annual support to include activities in India, Brazil and Singapore
ATLANTA (Jan. 12, 2022) — J.M. Huber Corporation, a global supplier of engineered materials, natural resources and technology-based services, announced today that it will expand its partnership with Habitat for Humanity International as part of its global Huber Helps community engagement program.
Huber is donating $750,000 to the global housing organization, which includes both a cash donation that will fund U.S. and international home builds and renovation projects, as well as in-kind donations of Huber Engineered Woods products to Habitat affiliates across the U.S. Huber’s partnership with Habitat includes fully-sponsored home builds in the U.S., but will also expand to include funding for home renovation and educational programs in India, Brazil and Singapore, where CP Kelco, a Huber Company, has operations.
“Huber’s commitment to affordable housing and our partnership with Habitat for Humanity are reflections of the Huber Principles in action and our commitment to sustainable community development,” said Don Young, executive vice president of health, environment and sustainability for J.M. Huber Corporation. “We are excited to provide opportunities for our employees to support their local communities and to have an impact on the lives of families across the U.S.”
Program planning is currently underway with projects expected to begin in 2022. CP Kelco employees will have the opportunity to volunteer with Habitat throughout the year in accordance with company and local COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Huber,” said Colleen Finn Ridenhour, chief development officer at Habitat for Humanity International. “The global need for housing is immense, and we are incredibly grateful for Huber’s ongoing support of Habitat’s mission by donating products and organizing volunteer opportunities to help families around the world build a safe and decent place to call home.”
About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
