City National Bank to support Habitat initiatives across the United States
ATLANTA (September 30, 2019) — City National Bank announced plans to take its local volunteer work national by way of a series of builds with Habitat for Humanity. With events in more than a dozen locations, City National hopes to help Habitat promote affordable, safe and decent housing across the U.S., including in Northern and Southern California, Las Vegas, New York City, Atlanta, Nashville and Washington, D.C.
“When businesses like City National step up at a national level, they can make a huge difference by helping even more families build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter,” said Julie Davis, Habitat’s vice president for Corporate Partnerships and Cause Marketing.
City National has helped local Habitat organizations for nearly 20 years on the West Coast, with projects including team home builds, galas and fundraisers. In one such show of commitment, City National was the presenting sponsor of the 2019 Los Angeles Builders Ball, an event hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles to honor organizations that share Habitat’s commitment to affordable housing.
By partnering with Habitat for Humanity, the bank hopes to support affordable housing on an even larger scale.
“City National Bank couldn’t be more honored to be a part of an organization that helps families get into homes of their own,” said Linda Duncombe, executive vice president of Marketing and Product Strategies for City National and a board member for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. “We both share a deep passion and commitment to building strong communities, and we understand the far-reaching effects of investing in people through Habitat for Humanity. There are few things more critical to success and overall well-being than having access to affordable housing.”
City National’s support of Habitat is part of its broader commitment to foster healthy communities, strengthen local neighborhoods, and encourage employment and economic and community development.
About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
