Able Services and Habitat for Humanity launch national partnership
ATLANTA (May 30, 2019) – Able Services, demonstrating its commitment to the communities in which it does business, is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to support community revitalization efforts across the U.S. to create viable and measurable change with neighborhood residents. The company’s employees will be volunteering to support Habitat’s work in San Francisco; Chicago; New York City; and Orange County, California.
“We are grateful to Able Services for partnering with Habitat for Humanity,” said Lynda Smith, senior director of corporate relations for Habitat for Humanity International. “Their support will help families and neighborhoods improve their lives and the places where they live.”
The first neighborhood revitalization project, a school playground, will take place in San Francisco’s Bayview district in June 2019. Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization program focuses on community development to help residents transform communities into vibrant, safe and sustainable places to live. The strategy works to form community coalitions with strong resident leaders to assess, develop and implement plans to achieve neighborhood goals such as safety improvements, employment opportunities, transportation solutions and creation of green space.
“The strength and stability Habitat for Humanity brings to neighborhoods is an obvious benefit for our communities,” said Mark Kelly, president of Able Services. “Working together, side by side with our employees and our Habitat partners, is a collaboration matching our company vision – revolutionizing solutions where people work and live.”
Additional Able Services support will include volunteering on home builds and repair projects.
About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
