Tarkett announces partnership with Habitat for Humanity with $400,000 product donation
Solon, OHIO, May 9, 2018 — Tarkett, a global manufacturer of sustainable flooring and sports surface solutions, today announces its corporate partnership with Habitat for Humanity. In 2018, Tarkett has donated $400,000 of product to support the nonprofit housing organization’s work in North America as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative, Tarkett Cares.
The partnership between Tarkett and Habitat began during the 2017 hurricane season, with Tarkett donating $250,000 of Johnsonite and Tandus Centiva flooring earlier this year to help with Habitat’s disaster recovery and rebuilding efforts in Texas and Florida.
“Tarkett is committed to doing good in the communities in which we live and work,” said Andrew Bonham, President and CEO of Tarkett North America. “Working with Habitat for Humanity to assist with rebuilding efforts following a destructive hurricane season was an incredibly meaningful experience. Our team found such close alignment between our values and principles and those of Habitat, so we knew exploring longer-term partnership opportunities was the right path forward.”
For 2018, Tarkett is supporting Habitat’s Home Builders Blitz at the Silver corporate partner level, donating $150,000 in product to the program to help build safe, affordable housing with families in need of a decent place to call home. Home Builders Blitz is a weeklong initiative that enlists help from thousands of professional homebuilders who, working alongside Habitat homeowners, volunteer their time and talents to construct, repair and revitalize homes.
“By partnering with companies like Tarkett, we’re able to construct more affordable homes that provide better futures for families,” said Lynda Smith, senior director of Corporate Relations, Habitat for Humanity. “We value Tarkett’s generous donations, which will help us reach more families to help build strength, stability and independence through shelter.”
“Being a good community partner is core to who we are as a company and a Tarkett team,” added Bonham. “Through Tarkett Cares, our partnership with Habitat for Humanity allows us to give back on a corporate level and also gives employees the chance to make a difference in their communities.”
Tarkett Cares encourages all employees around the world to spend up to two days a year of their work time on a charitable initiative and to share their time and expertise on a volunteer basis. Employees throughout North America have had opportunities to volunteer their time with Habitat during 2018, and many are slated to give back during Home Builder’s Blitz.

About Habitat for Humanity
Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The Christian housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.
