1Ideas
Teams at Habitat’s national offices partner with local communities and organizations. They submit ideas for projects to achieve Build Beyond’s four objectives: build, sustain, empower and influence. We encourage boldness, innovation and diversity.
2Design
Build Beyond’s in-house specialists help teams to turn their ideas into business-like proposals. High quality projects are designed to deliver results within two years.
3Preparation
Short videos are produced to explain each proposal. Teams get ready to pitch for up to 20% seed funding.
4Tigers’ Den
Our fun investment event is inspired by the TV shows Dragons’ Den and Shark Tank. Our friendly Tigers pledge seed money generated by the endowment.
5Menu
Projects approved for seed funding are added to our online menu. Each project needs one business or institution to co-fund its implementation.
6Co-funding
Co-funders provide 80% or more of the project budget. We brand each project with the logo of its co-funder. Results are attributable to that business or institution.
7Delivery
Build Beyond supports teams throughout implementation to ensure projects stay on track to succeed. Regular progress reports and video updates are published online.
8Influence
Measurable results attract more seed money and co-funding. Actionable knowledge is shared with practitioners around the world. Successes enable Habitat for Humanity and co-funders to positively influence the housing sector and inspire others to build even more.
