Habitat Construction Workshops

Building Better Homes, Intensive Construction Training

This training session is designed for affiliate construction committee chairs and members, project managers, construction supervisors, and executive directors who wish to learn more about cost-effective construction practices that lead to safe, energy-efficient and environmentally responsible home construction. There will be an opportunity for affiliates to share best practices in house construction. Please bring along your issues, challenges, questions and copies of best practices documents or ideas you have to share.

Presenter: This workshop will be presented in its entirety by Mr. Gord Cooke, a building science expert with Building Knowledge Inc. of Minneapolis, Minn. As a trainer, author and industry consultant, during the past two decades Gord has been an effective and passionate educator and advocate for better building practices, improved indoor air quality and energy efficiency. His strong technical and mechanical background has contributed to the development of innovative HVAC system designs and indoor air quality solutions for many builder clients. Gord has delivered trainings at numerous conferences including NAHB’s International Builders’ Show, Energy Design Conference and Sunbelt Builders Show.
